the dahlia garden







another sight not to be missed in volunteer park are the beautiful dahlias, they are amazing
this time of year. the garden rows are relatively shabby strips of dirt with wood stakes identifying the varieties, but the flowers are amazing to look at...

volunteer park conservatory












after brunch, we went to volunteer park on capitol hill, a beautifully designed 48-acre green space with conservatory, dahlia garden and asian art museum. the conservatory contains plants from all climates and the layout is one of the best i have seen in such a small space. you can see more on their website http://www.volunteerparkconservatory.org

a seattle adventure









after having a weekend in seattle recently, i have to say i cannot wait to go back. there were so many things to do, see, buy, eat and drink all over town. of course having the best companion and tour guides a person could ever hope for was an added bonus...
saturday was a jam-packed day of sightseeing and exploring. we started with a great brunch at 'smith' www.smithseattle.com - not only was the food delicious, the place was filled with old paintings and best of all... lots of taxidermy!
